Natural Gas Efficiency Project [Installation of Gas Compressors at Titas (Location-C) and Narsingdi Gas Fields]

Project Overview

Bangladesh Gas Fields Co. Ltd. (BGFCL) requested the installation of new gas compressors to recover the declining Flowing Well Head Pressure (FWHP) at Narsingdi Gas Field and Titas Gas Field (Location C). The new compressors would be installed upstream of the existing process plant with all auxiliary equipment necessary for stable operation of the compressors because increase of the condensate recovery volume will be expected to be higher than the case of installation downstream of the process plant.

The FWHP of wells at Narsingdi Gas Field currently ranges around 1,200~1,500 psig. The operating pressure of transmission pipeline to which gas is sent is currently approximately 650 psig, and it will increase to about 1,000 psig when the Ashuganj compressor station starts operation scheduled at the end of 2013. Because the FWHP of wells is still declining and some of them are expected to fall below the transmission pipeline pressure of 1,000 psig in approximately 2.5 years, planning of the new compressors is urgently required.

On the other hand, the FWHP of wells at Location C of Titas Gas Field currently ranges around 1,100~1,600 psig and the operating pressure of transmission pipeline to which gas is sent is about 1,000 psig. Because the FWHP of wells is still declining and some of them are expected to fall below the transmission pipeline pressure of 1,000 psig in approximately 2.8 years, planning of the new compressors is also urgently required similar to the Narsingdi Gas Field.

Scope of the Project, which is applied to respective Narsingdi and Titas Gas Field (Location C) is summarized as follows

  • Detailed engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning and Testing of Gas Compressor units with associated facilities, consisting of the following equipment:

1. Compressor units x 3 (2 duty & 1 stand-by)

2. Gas engine driver x 3 (for each compressor)

3. Auxiliary equipment of the compressors

c. After cooler x 1

4. Production separator x 1

5. Modification work for existing facility

a. Vent gas system

b. Drain system

c. Condensate recovery system

d. Fuel gas supply system

e. Electric supply system

f. Instrument gas system
